Voluntary Harmonization for Clinical Trial Approval : the way of the future?

Since February 2010, Dr. George Kraniou is a Medical Advisor at the Clinical Operations Department of PHARMASSIST ltd, one of the fastest growing contract research organizations in Greece.

Dr. Kraniou graduated with honours from the Department of Health Sciences, Deakin University, Melbourne Australia, with a major in Human Biology, and continued his studies obtaining a PhD degree in Human Biology, Physiology and Metabolism investigating the intracellular signaling pathways of insulin and their effects on glucose and lipid homeostasis.

After a research leave at the August Krogh Institute of the University of Copenhagen, he returned to Greece where he was engaged in teaching and research at the Harokopoio University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and as a research associate at the Immunology and Allergology Laboratory, 2nd Pediatric Clinic, Medical School, University of Athens, where he was involved in the implementation and conduct of the “Europrevall - The epidemiology of food allergy in children and adults across Europe” project.

Dr. Kraniou started his activities as a Medical Advisor in 2007 and since then has assisted in designing and implementing clinical studies of all phases in various therapeutic categories, including cardiology, endocrinology and oncology. He also contributed to the development and implementation of various training programs and seminars for medical advisors, clinical research associates, and marketing executives, and is actively engaged in writing medical and regulatory articles.
