Bringing Regional Lifescience Resources Together to Create a Sustainable Infrastructure for Growth

Scott Osborne is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at BioOhio, a non-private organization fostering bioscience industry growth across the State of Ohio. He assists pharmaceutical, medical device, imaging and diagnostics companies to expand or launch operations in the state and helps create new statewide programs to help accelerate industry growth.

Before joining BioOhio, Scott consulted for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and universities doing strategic planning, project management, market research, and grant writing. His preceding role was CEO of BioLOC, a biotechnology spin-out company from The Ohio State University. Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Scott was Vice President of New Ventures for Battelle’s Healthcare Products Sector where he managed the investment portfolio for the Healthcare Products Business, directed commercialization initiatives, and had oversight of its technology pipeline. He previously held management positions at Neoprobe Corporation and Abbott Laboratories where he led product development for medical devices, achieving sales of $120M per year.
Scott has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He is also an inventor on eight issued U.S. patents for medical devices.
